The Tree of Life Chandelier is the core custom art installation in the lobby of Kempinski Marsa Malaz Doha. It echoes and complements the Oysters Chandelier installed in another area of the same lobby, jointly creating a high-end artistic atmosphere with luxurious texture and cultural heritage for the hotel. Designed jointly by renowned designer Mohamad Makouk and the MATTEO team, this work takes Persian creation mythology as its design inspiration, integrates top craftsmanship and diverse materials, and becomes a iconic work in the field of high-end hotel art decoration in Qatar, demonstrating the top level and cultural value of custom art lighting.
In terms of design, the work takes the Tree of Life in Persian mythology as its core inspiration, symbolizing wisdom and protection, with the imagery of two guardian fish hidden in it, connecting heaven and earth and balancing good and evil. It deeply integrates ancient cultural connotation with contemporary artistic aesthetics, creating a Persian-style custom chandelier with both spiritual value and visual beauty. As a benchmark of Qatar hotel art installations, its design not only fits the regional cultural temperament of Doha, but also accurately adapts to the high-end positioning of five-star hotels, becoming the core carrier interpreting the style of Doha high-end hotel art lighting.
In terms of technology, the work demonstrates top-level customization strength, integrating three high-quality materials: colored glass, stainless steel and natural mother of pearl, crafted by artisans through hand-blown, polishing and inlaying processes, with exquisite craftsmanship embodied in every detail. The natural texture of mother of pearl collides with the neat lines of stainless steel, and the colored glass reflects vivid light and shadow, achieving a delicate balance between the thickness of the material and the lightness of the vision. With its grand specification of 13 meters in height and 7 meters in diameter, as a large-scale suspended sculptural chandelier, it perfectly adapts to the vertical space of the hotel’s magnificent lobby, transforming the space into an art field full of light and shadow flow, showing the texture and style of high-end hotel custom art lighting.
